Camp Chef Outdoor Oven With Grill Review
As tenting campers, our family usually chooses to go camping with others that have holiday trailers so we usually do not have to worry about bringing along any type of cooking grills. While this usually works out alright, we were limited to when we could go camping.
How It All Started
Because we don't always want to go with others we decided that it was time to buy a grill that could easily be brought along on our camping trips. We thought we would pick up a no name cheapo brand however we didn't want to get all the way to the mountains to find out that our grill wouldn't work so we opted to put a little money into our camping gear investment. While checking for portable gas grills online we came across the Camp Chef Outdoor Oven with Grill. This was the one…

After checking our local big box stores we couldn't find this particular Camp Chef model so we decided to order our new portable oven online. Not only did we end up with the exact grill we wanted but we also were able to get free shipping.

Not a bad price either, eh?
While Camp Chef does have another outdoor oven model we decided to get the updated version due to the ease of moving the oven as well as the griddle/stove combination on top. My wife also liked the racy red color of the new oven.
Camp Chef Oven With Grill Review
Once our outdoor oven arrived - right on time - we pulled it out of the box. The great thing about this oven is that it arrives already assembled. No taking hours to get it all put together.
A 5 lb propane tank can easily be attached to the back of the oven with the option of attaching a larger propane tank with the included attachment hose for longer camping trips. There is a thermometer built into the oven so you can keep an eye on the temperature.
We decided to give it a whirl to try it out before we headed out camping that weekend. We were surprised at how well it did. We tried out the grill on top and found that it cooked thereat evenly and had the added bonus of cleaning up quickly with no hassle. My wife even baked some cinnamon rolls in the oven for dessert - delicious!
Our camping test drive proved to seal the deal. With tenting we didn't want some heavy monstrous grill - this outdoor oven weighed in at about 33 lbs so very portable. We were able to cook anything we would cook at home, including baked treats. The top burner worked well though you do need to be a little out of the wind as it may blow out the flame. We found that it was fuel efficient as well for all it did.
I highly recommend the Camp Chef Outdoor Camp Oven. Not only is it a full complement to outdoor camping but you could even use it for a tailgating party at the park or even in an emergency with no power or electricity.
If you are looking for a stove/oven combo then this is a great buy.
